Meet the Principal
Welcome to Standley Lake High School!
Todd Rago is an experienced leader in education and the principal of Standley Lake High School in Jefferson County Public Schools (Jeffco), a role he has held since 2018. Under his leadership, Standley Lake has continued to prioritize academic excellence, student well-being and community engagement. The school serves approximately 1,137 students and offers a comprehensive curriculum, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) program.
With over 15 years of experience in education, Todd is known for his student-centered approach and belief in the power of strong relationships, effective communication and inclusive school culture.
Before joining Standley Lake, Todd was assistant principal at Golden High School, where he led staff development and oversaw key efforts in student engagement and behavior systems. As a former science teacher and department leader, he also developed curriculum, piloted assessments and helped shape data-driven interventions to support learning.
Todd holds a Master of Arts in Administrative Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Colorado Denver and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental, Population, and Organismic Biology from the University of Colorado Boulder. He has received multiple district honors for integrity, teamwork and exemplary performance.
His leadership is grounded in collaboration, continuous improvement and a deep commitment to preparing every student for a bright future.
