School Accountability Committee

Standley Lake High School’s school accountability committee is called the Gator Effectiveness Team, or GET.

GET acts as an advisory group to the school, provides a forum for parents, students and staff, and recommends ways to enhance the quality of education at Standley Lake.

  • GET to know … the administration
  • GET  to know … counselors and faculty
  • GET  to know .. students and student leadership
  • GET to know .. what is happening at SLHS
  • GET to know … our school!

Who Should Attend?

Anyone who wants to make a difference for SLHS is welcome:

  • Parents or community members who want to be informed about life at SLHS and who want to help with the issues facing our students
  • Students at SLHS who want to be a part of the solutions and to provide their unique viewpoint
  • Standley Lake educators who want to contribute their suggestions on how to make SLHS a great school

Meeting Norms

Meeting norms are the ground rules that encourage our team to work together respectfully and efficiently.

  • Meetings are open to all interested parties
  • There is no membership fee
  • The expectation is to provide an agenda, stick to it and start and stop the meeting on time
  • Meetings provide a trusting and safe forum for discussion. Participants should:
    • Be open to varying opinions and viewpoints
    • Show a willingness to listen
    • Have positive attitudes
    • Offer constructive commentary
    • Remember that all comments and ideas are valued
  • Meetings provide an opportunity to meet with and learn from the principal and members of the school staff
  • GET acts as an advisory group to the school administration, counselors and teachers
  • Meetings are not a platform for complaints or to discuss specific, individual issues
  • The goal is to focus on solutions, create action items as appropriate and follow up on those items

Bylaws

GET Committee Bylaws

Jeffco Schools District Policy AE-R-1 specifies the regulations for the school-level accountability committees (SAC). The descriptions in the SLHS-specific bylaws (updated 2019-2020) are in accordance with the district-level regulations, though not all regulations have been replicated in the SLHS-specific bylaws. For a complete listing of all regulations that the SLHS team abides by, the policy document may be found in Appendix A of the SAC Resource Guide.
