OUTDOOR LAB

It's time to apply!!!

Senior & Junior Leaders Needed for 2023-24!!!

It is an honor, privilege, responsibility, and commitment to be a High School Leader for Outdoor Lab. Students who are juniors and seniors (occasionally sophomores) have the unique opportunity to serve as high school leaders for middle school trips. While at the week-long program, high school leaders help 6th graders learn about science, history, and mountain ecosystems, among other things. The leaders will learn skills in communication, critical thinking/problem solving, self-direction, personal responsibility, and stewardship. To many of the students participating in Outdoor Lab, the most important person is the high school leader, as they serve as a guide, teacher, friend, adviser, and a source of inspiration. In order to fulfill these expectations, the high school leader must be emotionally mature, use good judgement, and demonstrate a natural love and respect for children and the environment.

You must meet the following qualifications in order to apply to be a High School Leader:

1. 2.0 GPA or higher

2. No attendance concerns*

3. No behavioral concerns*

4. Fill out Parent Permission Form and Med Form (in Google Classroom)

5. Fill out SLHS Parent Permission Form located in the Counseling Office
