Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) is Standley Lake’s career and technical student organization (CTSO).
CTSOs are integral, co-curricular components of each career and technical education course. These organizations serve as a means to enhance classroom instruction while helping students develop leadership abilities, expand workplace-readiness skills, and broaden opportunities for personal and professional growth.
Students are encouraged to participate in FCCLA activities and membership; contact Ms. Sloan or Ms. McCracken for more details. Some of the activities we do during the school year include:
- Community service projects within our classes
- The district conference
- A fun day for students to attend workshops and get to know the other members of Columbine FCCLA and those from around the district.
- STAR event project
- Allows students to further explore an aspect of FCCLA. Students can take their project to the state conference in April to present to a panel of judges and receive awards for their hard work.
